James is based in St Helier, Jersey, the Channel Islands and from where he maintains an international litigation and arbitration practice. He has appeared in courts all over the world.

Since his first admission in the Caribbean (Anguilla, 2002) he has litigated across the region at both trial and appellate levels. He left Serle Court Chambers in Lincoln’s Inn, London in 2010 to become the founding partner in the London office of Kobre & Kim LLP, a US/International law firm. He opened and then managed the Cayman Islands office of Kobre Kim LLP for several years.

James is known to be a leading authority on cross-border litigation in English and Commonwealth courts, with an emphasis on disputes in the financial services and technology industries, as well as those related to insolvency. His work has often involved complex trusts, banking and securities matters, including claims of £100 million+ by non-English banks, brokerage firms and other institutions against major international banks

James has much experience leading teams of lawyers across multiple jurisdictions on cross-border litigation in English and Commonwealth courts. In addition to that, he highly experience leading advocate. His clients continue to involve by non-English banks, brokerage firms and other institutions against major international banks including Standard Chartered Bank, JP Morgan Chase and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
